For hundreds of years, engineers have been developing new technologies that revolutionize the way we work, play, learn, and communicate. At the IEEE Virtual Museum you can explore the history of these technologies, find out how they work, and learn about some of the people who invented them.

Learn about engineering, earn national recognition, and win valuable prizes in a national computer-generated bridge-building contest! Anyone in Grades K-12 may compete. 

If you'd like to try your hand at engineering, you and an adult can try one of our hands-on activities, from building a mousetrap powered vehicle to sampling Slinky® science.

You can discover engineering through reading. Check out our reading list and share it with your local librarian. If you want to tell us what books you like, you can receive a National Engineers Week button. While you're here, join in the adventures of Boing-Boing the Bionic Cat! Read our Re-engineered Fairy Tales written by students and real engineers.

Check out the winning teams and models of the National Engineers Week Future City Competition. Maybe your school would like to participate.
